a. After registration and hotel check-in, business attire is required when away from the hotel room. Business attire or semi-formal does not necessarily mean coat and tie or Sunday dress, but it does exclude jeans.

b. Jeans or casual clothing may be worn when at the swimming pool, or when in the "living" area of the hotel--away from the lobby, restaurants, meeting room, etc. Cover-ups must be worn to and from the pool area. Swimming attire is not permitted in the hotel lobby area of the convention center at any time.

c. All members, advisers, and guests are to adhere to the following:

PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE REQUIRED FOR WEAR DURING OFFICIAL FBLA ACTIVITIES INCLUDES:

MALES:
* Collared dress shirt
* Dress slacks
* Neckties
* Dress shoes or dress boots
* Dress socks
* Men's business suit (optional)
* Men's business sport coat or sweater (optional)

FEMALES:
* Business pantsuit (pants accompanied by a coordinated jacket or sweater) OR
* Business suit OR
Business dress of appropriate length OR
* Blouse and skirt of appropriate length
* Close-toed dress shoes (no sandals of any kind)
* Hosiery to be worn with dress of skirt
* No sleeveless garments

No visible body piercing, other than ears, on men or women.

Inappropriate attire includes:

*Denim or chambray fabric clothing of any kind (ties, skirts, shirts, pants, etc.)

*Overalls, shorts, skorts, stretch or stirrup pants, exercise or bike shorts

*Backless, see-through, tight-fitting, or low-cut blouses/tops/dresses

*T-shirts, lycra, spandex, midriff tops, tank tops, bathing suits

*Clogs, thongs, sandals, athletic shoes, industrial work shoes, hiking boots, bare feet, or over-the-knee boots

*Athletic wear including sneakers
 
*Hats or Sunglasses

*Flannel fabric clothing

*Banded collar shirts (cannot wear a tie with a banded collar shirt)

*Visible foundation garments

Casual attire may be worn for dances. Casual attire includes jeans, nice T-shirts, or denim/chambray shirts, sneakers, or sandals. Not allowed are "cutoff" or "cutout" jeans, lycra, spandex, midriff tops, and bathing suits. Shoes and shirt must be worn. Semiformal, formal, or FBLA attire should be worn to the awards program.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT ATTIRE FOR WOMEN: If a female competitor wears slacks (business pantsuit, the slacks must be accompanied by a coordinated jacket or sweater.
